Shannon Snoad - Artist & Emerging Children's Author
Shannon Snoad grew up in Gippsland, Victoria, on the family farm adventuring with her 6 brothers and sisters, four horses, three dogs, two cats, her calf ‘cuddles’ and the neighbours kids.Allowed to roam fairly free, it was not unusual for her father to have to tell Shannon to get off her pony and go back inside to get out of her PJ’s, before riding to the neighbours for breakfast (“we had awesome neighbours”).
Shannon forgot that she was supposed to grow up, so as she grew older she work-played around Australia in snow fields and on the Islands before becoming and Outdoor Education Instructor. This career change allowed her to continue to have adventures with kids and continue to write silly stories to make them laugh.
Shannon now lives in Adelaide with her husband John, daughter Taylor, new pup Middy, two chooks three fish and whatever fruit trees and plants she can cram onto a city block.
She finally grew up into a real job, helping her husband run their Shade business – Shade SA, but as real work doesn’t suit Shannon at all, she still paints and writes silly stories which she hopes you enjoy as much as she did creating them for you.
